In a notable precedent, newly-appointed Central Bank Governor Karim Saeed visited Information Minister Paul Morcos at his office at Télé Liban in Tallet el-Khayat, following an invitation by Morcos.
The meeting was characterized by cordiality and agreement over media cooperation to highlight the needs of the television station and the new phase of the Central Bank’s work.
The Governor toured the television departments and studios, and was given a general overview of the station’s general conditions.
Morcos highlighted the need for support from the government and all productive sectors in the country to revive the national institution and the Information Ministry.
In turn, Governor Saeed promised Morcos a second visit to Télé Liban to inquire more deeply about its situation and needs, adding that his media appearances will be restricted to the Lebanese Television, Radio Lebanon, and the National News Agency.
