A seminar was held on Friday at the Press Syndicate HQ, during which Author and Researcher, Rev. Dr. Michael Rouhana, discussed his reformist vision of the Lebanese constitution through his Book entitled “The Fifth Republic: The Solution to the Lebanese Dilemma.”
The seminar was attended by Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, Press Syndicate Dean, Awni El-Kaaki, former MP Ghassan Moukheiber, as well as scores of intellectual, social and media dignitaries.
Caretaker Minister Makary hailed the importance of Father Rouhana’s writings, especially in terms of their depth and philosophy, saying “we cannot summarize the details of this book in one word, but rather it must be read more than once,” describing the book as “smooth, easy and exciting.”
He continued: “Between the two covers of the book, with its many parts and chapters, the author’s philosophical dimension as well as his constitutional depth caught my attention.” Makary highlighted the need to work on building a solid national will.
Makary also called for giving this book the highest priority and attention in study, reflection, and discussion from many perspectives.
Father Rouhana, for his part, noted that the book’s content reflects his personal vision rather than the positions of the Maronite Church or the Antonine Order to which he belongs.
