Lebanese Ministry of Information
The Ministry of Information announced in a statement, that certificates will be issued to field journalists who participated in the virtual training course, which was organized in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), on international legal frameworks governing armed conflicts and other situations of violence.
The Ministry reminded that the training course was divided into 4 sessions, each session lasting two hours, addressing the following topics:
– International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
– International Humanitarian Law
– Rules governing the use of force
– Safety of journalists and the laws that protect them
Caretaker Minister of Information, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, gave a word in which she saluted all Lebanese media professionals working under difficult circumstances and pursuing their media duties despite all the dire surrounding conditions.
The Minister indicated that the course was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
