Abdel Samad Underlines Productive Dialogue: Vaccination Of Media Professionals Has Begun

Caretaker Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad, stressed, in an interview on Radio Lebanon, on “the importance of productive dialogue and the need to waive some demands in order to reach a compromise that serves the interest the country.”

Abdel Samad explained that “the responsibility that rests with the media is to shed light on the available opportunities, added to its primary mission to convey reality as it is,” underscoring what the Ministry of Information has done in terms of “turning the challenge into an opportunity, by highlighting the way to benefit from the stifling health crisis by encouraging the manufacture of medical supplies locally, in high quality and at relatively low costs.”

She also revealed that “the media workers vaccination process was launched in line with the national vaccination plan, while benefiting from the Chinese donation which we appreciate. However, distributing the vaccine to media workers remains subject to the scientific opinion of the Ministry of Public Health and the National Committee.”

The minister called for “focusing efforts on strengthening the productive sectors in Lebanon and encouraging investments in it by restoring confidence, which would move the economy and put the country on the path to salvation.”
