Caretaker Minister of Information, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, on Friday deemed the Lebanese Dive Fairouz as the country’s notable icon who has raised Lebanon’s name so high and brought the Lebanese together through her heavenly voice and art.
Minister Abdel Samad was speaking in an interview with Radio Lebanon, marking Fairouz’s 85th birthday, during which she highlighted the paramount importance of shedding light on our history and heritage in a bid to restore Lebanon’s image of civilization, art and beauty.
Abdel Samad described the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Fairouz as “remarkably significant” for the Lebanese diva has reflected a pioneering image of Lebanon.
The Minister also called for honoring Fairouz across the nation, setting an example for every distinguished person that he or she can raise the name of Lebanon high in all international forums through his/her individual achievements.
