Sheikh Akl of the Druze Community, Sheikh Naim Hassan, received at the Community House in Verdun caretaker Minister of Information, Manal Abdel Samad, with whom he tackled an array of national and media topics.
“The meeting touched on the prevailing political, economic, international and regional challenges, which are impacting the people’s livelihood,” Abdel Samad said after the visit, uttering trust in her host’s wise leadership.
“We talked about the issue of media and websites, especially those that may bring about harm if not legally organized. (…) These sites, although not currently subject to the law in force, cannot be disregarding media principles and the ethics of the profession,” she said, uttering keenness “that our media be objective, correct and reliable.”
