Abdel Samad Calls On Media Outlets To Distance Themselves From Conflicts

Minister of Information, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, commented via her Twitter account on the sectarian tensions that took place Saturday night in the capital, saying: “Yesterday witnessed a sectarian tautness that brought to mind images of the ominous, dreadful war.”

“It is unacceptable to be drawn into any sort of discord,” the Minister added, noting that the situation in Lebanon is sensitive and hate must be set aside.

Finally, Abdel Samad called on the media to dissociate themselves from conflicts, partisan and sectarian divisions, while adopting accuracy in covering events to avoid causing problems and disputes.
