Minister of Information, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, on Thursday said in a joint “Coronavirus awareness” press conference at the Ministry of Education that the media played an unignorable and substantial role in raising awareness.
“The golden and wise rule that is best used amid the prevailing circumstances is: No panic, yet no laxity,” Abdel Samad said.
She insisted that there was no need to spark panic among citizens over two Coronavirus cases that were being treated. “However, it is not permissible to deal with the emerging situation as if nothing had happened,” she added.
“Caution is a duty, and following health guidelines is necessary; national responsibility urges us to cooperate, coordinate, and amplify efforts to cope with any emergency,” the Information Minister said.
