Lebanese Ministry of Information
On 26 March 1983, a Legislative decree no. 25 was issued to reorganize the Ministry of information. The Decree determined the Ministry’s policy in the fields of media and publishing:
To propose and implement a media policy that will consolidate the common sense of national unity.
To consider and make suggestions on issues pertaining to media laws and regulations.
To ensure the implementation of laws and regulations dealing with the various print and broadcast media, publishing and advertising.
To strengthen mutual relationship between the State and public opinion in Lebanon and abroad.
This amendment gave what was known in the past as the “Publishing Center” its new name “Directorate of Lebanese Studies and Publications.”
