General Security Chief, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, disclosed Sunday that efforts are underway to retrieve the remains of the soldiers who were taken hostage by terrorists, indicating that the remains of six bodies believed to belong to the abducted soldiers have been recovered.
“It has not been confirmed yet that these remains belong to the military soldiers, although we are almost certain they are,” stated Ibrahim regretfully, urging all to await the DNA test results.
Ibrahim’s words came as he arrived at the tents of the kidnapped soldiers’ families at Riad El-Solh Square in downtown Beirut this evening.
